#CHACOOKSWHATEVER : FRESH SPRING ROLLS (LUMPIANG SARIWA) WITH BEETS AND YACÓN


Hey Readers!!! Let me share you the recipe for Pinoy's all time favorite food. Lumpiang Sariwa or Fresh Spring Roll is one of the most Asian's requested foods. And for my very own, unprofessional but still helpful version of it with a unusual ingredients than normals I will share you and show how to do it.

  • Potato
  • Red Beets
  • Yacón
  • Cabbage
  • Carrots
  • Chicken (avoid fats)
  • Celery
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Garlic
  • Onions
  • Veg Oil
  • Chicken Broth 

(Sauce)
  • Soy Sauce
  • Brown Sugar
  • Corn Starch
  • Water
  • Peanuts (crushed)
  • Salt
  • Pepper
(Wrapper)
  • Corn Starch
  • Milk
  • Eggs
  • Veg Oil
  • Salt
  • Celery

Instruction
  1. Make the filling: Cut all the vegetables into all appropriate shapes. Fried quickly or sauté garlic and onion into a hot pan with. Next the chicken stripped or cut into a nice pieces. Wait until it cooked then follow the remaining veggies except the red beets. You need to boil and set it aside separately and served after or while doing the wrapping. It'll will ruin the color of your Fresh Spring Roll once you get it along to the other veggies. Set it all aside.
  2. For the wrapper: mix the dried ingredients first then follow by the eggs, water and chopped celery leaves. Add the oil and mixed it well. Turn on the stove and put the non-stick flat pan with a very low heat and spray some oil or butter. Pour-in the mixture depend on the size that you want. Tilt and wait the bottom to cook before the top part. It's very easy to to burn so you should be careful. Place it in a flat place and set it aside.
  3. Make the sauce: Pour the water a pan. Wait until it boil. Add the brown sugar, soy sauce, corn starch, salt and peper. Cook until the sauce becomes thick then add the crushed peanut and chopped celery leaves. Set it aside.
  4. On wrapping: Place one of the wrapper in a plate make sure it's flat. Spoon the filling and place it in the middle. Add some red beets on the top of the fillings. Close the wrapper by folding it and roll carefully. Pour the sauce on the top and you can add peanuts and some green before you serve it.
